The GT-Air is a full-face touring helmet with an inside sun visor. This helmet has established itself as SHOEI's new touring full-face helmet, with not just a high level of comfort but also an uncompromising, polished design that has gained many riders' approval. Following in the footsteps of the GT-Air, SHOEI now offers the GT-Air II, a new premium touring full-face helmet that demonstrates its worth via an evolution of utility and comfort.

The New SHOEI GT AIR II Helmet

The GT-Air II has a shell form with sharper edges that integrates with the ventilation sections to let air to flow from front to rear, drawing inspiration from the GT Air's side design. The helmet's design is accented with a crisp chin line and anchoring space for an unique communication system, giving it a streamlined look. A QSV-2 sun visor is now included on the GT-Air II, which is extremely useful to provide relief from sun glare.

The sun visor has been extended by 5 mm in comparison to the previous model, decreasing the quantity of sunlight that enters between the sun visor's bottom border and the eye port. To avoid contact with the nose owing to the longer sun visor, the nose portion has been reduced to 5 mm deeper than the original version.

Motorcyclists value communication systems. The SRL2 communications system, created solely by SENA, is attached to the GT-Air II through an attachment mechanism. The attachment is a one-of-a-kind design that allows the communication system to be installed quickly and easily while maintaining an attractive design.

The SHOEI Brand

SHOEI has been manufacturing motorcycle helmets since 1958. Kamata Polyester Co. was founded in 1954, and the company's early helmets were largely designed for use in the construction sector. SHOEI's founder, Eitaro Kamata, started making motorcycle helmets in the 1950s, and the Tokyo plant produced the first motorcycle helmets to satisfy the Japanese Industrial Standard in 1960. (JIS).

SHOEI's helmets were adopted as Honda's "authentic" helmets in 1965, boosting their popularity and availability. The Shoei Safety Helmet Corp. was founded in 1968, shortly after the Ibaraki plant was completed. Iwate's present plant was constructed in 1989.

"SHOEI is not a genuine word and does not signify anything," a SHOEI representative explained when asked about the name's origins. The passage of time in Japan is measured in dynasties, which are the lifetimes of emperors. Because they were in the Showa dynasty when SHOEI was founded in 1959, the first three letters SHO were merged with the first two letters of the founder's name Eitaro Kamata, resulting in the name SHOEI.
